I was reading my Soul Treasures, a monthly newsletter from SoulCollage Playground and Anne Marie Bennett. Anne is also list mom to KaleidoSoul Community Yahoo Group, an online group that I belong to when to my surprise I saw my own soulstudio49 featured in my favorite section of the newsletter, Soul Nourishment,Websites, Music and More.....

So I decided to check my blog and saw that I haven't been to soulstudio49 since February 21! My how time flies!

But, I have been making very good use of the time I've been away......Another online workshop with True North Arts, Kathryn Antyr's latest workshop Storytelling and Collage, a Hero's Journey in collage. I loved it of course. The collagediva, that's Kathryn, always gives you everything she's got, by way of written and visual art, so you fully understand the instructions. For this workshop I used the same format I use for SoulCollage; ie 5X8 cards. Kathryn also created a safe online yahoo group for the participants to communicate with each other and add a richness that really can't be done any other way. In the end we made a slideshow through Smilebox that shows our journey.

Here are seven digital collages that I did a long time ago on Polyvore. It was a fun and satisfying experience to create these collages and actually I did these before I knew about SoulCollage. For a very long time I couldn't enlarge the thumbnail prints. Somehow I managed, I don't know how but here they are! They are still not the best for detail but I thought they were interesting enough to post here. I felt I was able to connect to a very deep part of myself through these collages.

Soul Studio

I wanted one place to display my soulcollage cards. Soulcollage is a process created by Seena Frost , that you can see on her website or read in her book. Seena says; this is a multi-leveled, creative process which anyone can do. All you need is a good pair of scissors, pre-cut mat board cards, and images you can cut out from magazines, greeting cards, personal photos, postcards, catalogues, and calendars. Also a short note to the artists who provide those images. Thank you to all the wonderful photographers and artists whose images inspired us to recreate and discover our inner and outer worlds. One more thing I would like to mention here is that we may share our cards with friends and family but we do not sell. barter or trade our cards. There are 4 suits to the soulcollage deck the Committee Suit, the Community Suit, the Companion Suit and the Council Suit. The transpersonal cards are the Source Card, SoulEssence card and a Witness card. So now you have a very brief overview of Soulcollage.

I find the process of creating these cards deep and satisfying, a way to explore your inner being and develop an intimate relationship with yourself. Sometimes the cards you create are suprising and other times they completely blow you away. My first card was so startling to me that I had to put it down for a few weeks. All the cards I have created so far have been made intuitvely, however I think that I am ready to consciously start creating some cards, especially for my Community Suite As of this writting I have created 22 cards. I don't know yet what suits they are, and haven't made any of the new transpersonal cards either. I am enjoying the soulcollage process and the adventure of learning myself, a long awaited event!

The Cross

This is the very first soulcollage card I created. The card is called the Cross. I didn't realize that the window image I used created a cross through the center of my card until after I had finished pasting down the last image. When I held the card upright to take a look, I was shocked because I knew exactly what the one outstanding message was before I even did the dialouging exercise which, by the way, took weeks for me to conjur the courage.
